Last March 12, 2020, President Rodrigo Duterte broadcast Executive Order No. 11 the resolution and guidelines on how our government stop and control the spreading of NCOV – 19 right after the rapid increase of infected patients recorded raised to 39 individuals.

March 15, 2020, Metro Manila was under community quarantine and this will take effects up to April 14, 2020. Each locality did its part to help on how to control the infections.

March 16, 2020, President Rodrigo Duterte informed the public about the enhanced community quarantine under the RA 11332 where mayors don’t need an ordinance to ensure the safety of their constituents. The entire mainland Luzon is under the enhanced community quarantine up to April 13, 2020.

What is the difference between the two?

First, the community quarantine, this level the movement of the people largely limited to accessing basic commodities and work. The workers need to provide Identification Card as proof for their employment. As per information broadcast live, the sea, land and air travels are suspended.

Second, the enhanced community quarantine, this level is somehow similar to lockdown where hard borders are implemented. The sea, land, air travels, and public transportations are suspended. Strict home quarantine for all households is implemented. Health workers, food deliveries and other necessities such as medical deliveries are the only ones allowed to cross the barges.

Today, March 18, 2020, many localities and provinces doing their best to attend the needs of everybody. Filipinos are in tough times, there are many still need to consider but hand in hand we can combat COVID 19.
